Founder & Lead Instructor
My name is Eric van Heumen. I am the Founder and Lead Instructor of Heumen Performance.
Before entering the corporate training world, I served for 5 years as a Royal Dutch Marine. Those years taught how people perform under pressure. In operational environments, communication must be clear and controlled. There is little room for misunderstanding. As a soldier serving in this Elite Military unit, I specialized in roles as a Team Leader, Combat Medic, Sharpshooter, Parachutist, and Drone Operator. During these years, I participated in anti-piracy missions, operating primarily in small, tightly coordinated teams.
After my military service, I worked within the Dutch Intelligence and Security Services, including the MIVD and AIVD. My work within these Secret Services focused on Human Intelligence Field Investigations. It primarily involved gathering valuable and sensitive information by talking to people in real-world environments. I specialized in behavioral analysis, elicitation techniques, and building trust in sensitive and high-stakes situations. The work required understanding people quickly. It required listening carefully. And it required guiding conversations in a way that allowed critical information to surface naturally.
I learned that valuable information is rarely given.
It is earned.
